Autodesk University 2013 Classes On-demand: Introduction to BIM 360 Glue API

IMAGINiT Clarity Released: Commercial Application Using Glue API

First, I would like to start by introducing myself to The 360 View blog. Manu kindly invited me to be a guest author of this blog. I have been working with Manu through BIM 360 Glue API, managing Glue API pilot program for ADN (Autodesk Developer Network) members.

Today is a big day for us who embrace API and cloud, in particular for people who are working with BIM 360 Glue API. i.e., IMAGINiT Technologies has announced the release of IMAGINiT Clarity 2015 product.

It's a big milestone for Manu and I because IMAGINiT Clarity has a new feature that integrates with BIM 360 Glue. And that part is of course done through the API! We have been working with Matt Mason of IMAGINiT. We are very excited about it. In case you are interested in finding out what feature, here is the excerpt about the enhancement specific to Glue:

"Integration with Autodesk BIM 360 Glue

To enhance the value of Autodesk BIM 360's Glue data, IMAGINiT Clarity now offers the ability to automate the publishing of Revit data to Glue and for users to view Glue data inside the Clarity environment. By linking Clarity to Glue, a BIM coordinator transforms a manual process that takes multiple steps into a task that will publish Revit models to Glue when needed. The ability to use both Clarity and Glue helps provide firms a more integrated project collaboration system, reducing errors and increasing profitability."

As you might have seen in Jeremy's blog, Matt Mason was also at AEC Hackathon this weekend.  I had a chance to congratulate him about this work with him personally as well. Here is a little bit of technical note he gave me:

"We were excited to work with Glue. We developed a C# wrapper around the BIM 360 Glue API, and used it to synchronize our projects with corresponding Glue projects. We specifically perform automated publishing of Revit to BIM 360 Glue, as well as viewing integration. We intend to go further, to better integrate saved views and dashboards."

I look forward to seeing more applications by 3rd parties developed and integrated with Glue!
